Assam tea is probably best known in tea bags and in this form creates a particularly strong pungent brew which is usually served with milk. However as a  loose leaf tea, ‘Assam Second Flush Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe’ (TGFOP) ranks among some of the finest black teas on the market, it is a superbly rich and malty brew. When made correctly you can really taste the flavour and very little bitterness. 

Assam is the world’s largest tea-growing region, located in India. The Brahmaputra River runs through the area deposits its rich minerals on low lying areas and the tropical climate contributes to making this tea unique. 

The leaves from the second flush of harvest are most esteemed. They are prized for their full-bodied smoothness and sweet, malty taste and that's what we have here. Pairs well with all types of biscuits!
